:thumbsup: it was Suspicion and the character's name was Lina.

Joan Fontaine won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1941 for this performance.

This is the only Oscar-winning performance in a Hitchcock film.

The bloke with her in the car is, of course, Archie Leach :mrgreen:

I have it....

Photo shows him as a Barrister which narrows it down to an Australian TV series where he plays the character Cleaver Greene, a brilliant but self-destructive Sydney barrister.
