On this day in 1863 a famous speech was made. Who made the speech, and what is this speech now known as?

No, just rehearsing set building and then rehearsing all day.
You have no idea how many times I have stopped myself posting both questions on the same thread. Finally failed!

Actually, you are almost right. Carolina is the song, but as it is not a state - you are very close, but no banana.

in 1718 on this day, off the coast of North Carolina, the infamous privateer "Blackbeard" was cornered by British soldiers and killed.
That was his real name?

Here's a fairly easy one for the 22nd. It was on this date in 1963 that President Kennedy was murdered/assassinated in Dallas, TX. What then Texas Governor was seriously wounded also, but survived?

Coincidentally, my mom just bought me the latest Stephen King novel, an 834 pager at that, that deals with time travel & the Kennedy assassination. Not his usual horror genre, but the reviews have been excellent. Hopefully when I'm done with my move, I can sit down & enjoy my new novel.....looks interesting to say the least!

That would be John Connally.

Good to have you back Jon.

I'll do one more trivia and lyric question and then your threads are back in you hands.

Today back in 1963, the first episode of which iconic Science Fiction series aired for the very first time. Bonus points for the main actor and actress.

I'm going to have to say the answer is Dr. Who.....I can't get the extra credit without looking it up unfortunately.

Now it's good to be back Lars.....I'm currently in the middle of a major move & just got done putting in another 12-13 hour day.....but I'll be around at least sporadically this week & hopefully fully & regularly by next week. Funny that you mentioned about almost posting both the lyrics & the trivia in the same thread......that used to happen all the time to me & I think I actually did it twice (though I deleted the one posted to the wrong thread). So yeah, I can definitely relate.

Dr Who is correct - I'll leave the rest of the question in case someone else would like to answer it.
