I have just been watching one of my favourite films - Ice Cold in Alex, and I thought that, to complement the "Movie Game" thread, a pictureless quiz might be in order. So, with that in mind...

As I said, I have just been watching Ice Cold in Alex and so these questions are all based around that film.

1) Where was the ambulance and crew being evacuated from?
2) What was the name of the Ambulance?
3) What brand of lager was served in the bar in Alexandria at the end?
4) What was van der Poel's real name.
5) Name the 4 stars of the film.

Carlsberg is correct. The original in the book was Rheingold, but that sounded too German, so the Danish lager Carlsberg was used instead.
In the 80's Holsten had a series of ads that used old film footage - Carlsberg's answer was to use the unadulterated clip from Ice Cold in Alex up to where John Mills says - "Worth waiting for" after downing his glass. The usual tag line was slightly changed to "Still probably the best lager in the world".

5) would one of the stars be John Mills?

Correct - 1 more to go - probably not as well known an actor.

I kept thinking it was Trevor Howard but no. He was one of those actors that always played the British Army Officer in no end of war films...but his name?
A little research and it is....Harry Andrews
