Here, I will be posting a random trivia question for everyone to take a stab at. I will try to post a question every few days at the very least. It's just for fun, and sometimes my questions might be rather American-Centric as I am from the States, but they will cover all genres imaginable, so most should have a shot at answering a question or two!

First question: On the television series "Are You Being Served?" what was the name of Mrs. Slocombe's cat?

True enough...I had recently posted about double entendres & used Mrs. Slocombe's pussy as an example...when she really meant her cat. So, I kind of had cat on the mind....should have said pussy. Of course Larss got it right off...Tiddles is correct!

Here is my question for today:

Given all of the destruction in Japan & it's comparison to the destruction during WWII:

What was the name (not the make, the name the bomber gave it) of the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb as a weapon of war? (targeted at the city of Hiroshima)

Twas Enola Gay, named after Col. Paul Tibbets's mom if memory serves and inspiration for this 80s synth-pop classic:

Indeed, it was Enola Gay & it was indeed named for Col. Paul Tibbets' mom Enola Gay Tibbets!

Stay tuned for question #3 coming tomorrow! Tomorrow's subject? The War of 1812!

Okay, since it is now "tomorrow," here is today's question:

The Battle of New Orleans was one of the most important battles of the War of 1812. What ironic circumstance surrounded that battle?

That it took place after the treaty ending the war was signed.

Here is your question for Tuesday:

On the television programme "Allo Allo!," what was the name of the painting that seemingly everyone was trying to either steal or counterfeit & what was the name of the fictional painter who painted it?

Close enough! Actually the fictional Dutch painter's name was Van Klomp (Dutch for "clogs"). But, as this is not a spelling exam, and you were only 1 letter off, I'm giving you credit!

Stay tuned for the next question coming Wednesday...the theme: The United States Presidency.

You are correct sir....it was indeed Gerald Ford! I was going to mention that it was a bit eerie that Larss chose to post a Nixon video, as the question I posted was actually the same one I had in mind way before he even posted the video....but, I decided not to because it would have been too much of a hint. Ha ha ha! But that was spooky! Ha ha ha!

Stay tuned for my next question coming on Thursday. The topic tomorrow: Statehood

Even though I was but a wee lad at the time, I believe Nixon is who we think about when we think about when we got our "cherry popped"! Ha ha ha! In other words, it's when we had our blinders removed, and came to the sad realization that the President is human, and, oh yeah, he lies right along with the rest of us. Nixon so damaged the respect for and faith/belief in the office of the President that it hasn't recovered to this day. Sad fact is that Nixon had the potential to be one of the greatest Presidents in U.S. history, but he was EXTREMELY paranoid, and that paranoia got the best of him....and as they say...the rest is history! Funny thing though, his original VP, Spiro Agnew also was forced to resign due to a scandal involving taking bribes/kick backs while he was the governor of Maryland. I guess you would be safe in saying that the whole administration had "issues"! Ha ha ha!

Since I woke up around 4:30, here is my question for Thursday:

Delaware was the first State to ratify the U.S. Constitution and thus actually become a State. Which State was second?
