I far as I can see, the one big problem with CDN for pay membership sites is the very thing that it does, i.e. caches the content around the globe. This is the last thing that you want, as it makes it far easier for content thieves to hack the data and exploit it for themselves. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

Well most CDN's allow you to set the TTL (Time to Live) to less then an hour,
So regardless of the fact that the content is cached, it can be cached for less then what content thieves can make vulnerable,
I think the lowest TTL value I have seen set on a CDN file was 5 minutes.

Well lower TTL means less caching which means less bandwidth savings which means more money to pay?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the bandwidth cost not as much of an issue as it was, say...3 years ago? I remember when you had ISPs with data plans that were by MB and more recently by GB. Now, streaming that sort of content over the net requires much less bandwidth due to the content packaging that I wouldn't think the cost would be that high...

BUT, I fully admit, I could be way off base - it has been some time since I worked closely enough with an ISP to know specifically on the exact details.
